Valentina Oldham is a Case Worker, working in our complex crime team is based in our Manchester office. Valentina is currently working on cases involving serious and organised crime involving drugs, conspiracies, murders, sex cases, proceeds of crime and fraud. Her tasks include investigation and case preparation, drafting statements, attending court, and taking instructions from clients.
Prior to joining Reeds, Valentina worked for JMW Solicitors based in Manchester as a Paralegal. During her time here, Valentina undertook a number of tasks in cases involving serious and organised crime such as death by dangerous driving, inquests, conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail, historical sex cases and fraud cases. Valentina initially started in law as a Court usher at Cambridge Crown Court. Working at the Crown Court inspired her to specialise and work within Criminal Defence.
Valentina volunteers as a Public Speaker with a charity called State Talking where she speaks to pupils from State Schools and inspires them to pursue a career within Law having come from a State School herself which was low performing and closed down. She also advises students of the alternative legal qualification of CILEX.

Professional qualifications / memberships
CILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice Completed – Qualified Paralegal
Valentina is currently studying for her CILEX Level 6 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice and she is due to graduate next year as a Lawyer upon completion of her final exams.
Valentina is due to complete her police station accreditation in due course which will enable her to represent clients at the police station.
Notable Cases
R v LF – Conspiracy to kidnap and blackmail case at Wood Green Crown Court. Our client was acquitted of all charges. Valentina was the paralegal in this case.
Inquest of KH – Successfully represented their client DF at an inquest touching the death of KH before the Coroners Court to consider the circumstances surrounding a road traffic collision in which the parties were involved. Valentina was the paralegal in this case.
