Emma Macdonald is a Chartered Legal Executive based within the Private Family Law Team in our Eastbourne office. Born and bred in Eastbourne, Emma began her career in law as a Personal Assistant to a local Family Lawyer. Developing a passion for the area of law, she started her training, qualifying as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2006.

Emma specialises in a full range of family law cases including private law Children Act matters, cohabitee disputes, divorce and matrimonial finances and issues surrounding domestic abuse.

Her experience within family law has instilled in her a true belief in the benefits that she knows non-court resolution can often bring, and where appropriate, Emma adopts and encourages a conciliatory approach to try and help her clients, before engaging in what can often be stressful and protracted Court Proceedings.

As an experienced Lawyer, Emma fully understands the importance of good communication in getting results for her clients. She takes time to listen to her clients to ensure that she fully understands their instructions, so that she in turn is able to give them the benefit of carefully considered, and individually tailored advice. She does this with genuine empathy and is therefore always able to support her clients when they are at their most vulnerable. Emma approaches her cases methodically and is often able to identify and execute pragmatic solutions to what can often be very stressful and emotive situations for clients
