Florence is a Trainee Solicitor working within the Mental Health and Court of Protection Departments, based in our Bristol office. Her role within the Court of Protection team involves assisting solicitors with daily tasks, such as drafting documents, communicating with the courts and speaking with clients. Within the Mental Health team, she carries out similar tasks for the solicitors within that department, to help with preparation for Mental Health Tribunals in England and Wales.
Prior to joining Reeds, Florence undertook her Law degree with Swansea university, graduating in 2022 with a First Class Honours Degree. Following this, Florence moved to Liverpool where she studied the Legal Practice Course with a Masters in Law at the University of Law. She graduated in 2023 achieving a Distinction.
Florence is a Law Society Accredited Mental Health Representative representing patients detained under the Mental Health Act before the Mental Health Tribunal for England and Wales. Within this process, Florence ensures that her client’s voices are being heard. She also attends various meetings within her client’s case, including Care and Treatment Planning meetings, s117 meetings and represents patients at their Hospital Managers Hearings. Florence brings her family law experiences into her role within mental health, allowing her to gain a greater understanding of her client’s situation and experiences.
Florence thrives on going above and beyond for her clients to ensure that their needs are being met and they understand their rights. She enjoys engaging with her clients and supporting them to the best of her ability.
