Tom Brymer is a Partner based in our Reading office, who also acts as the Area Manager for Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Sussex and Hampshire. He has an overall responsibility for the supervision and management of our Magistrates Court teams.

Tom joined Reeds in 2011 where he set Reeds’ second office in Reading. The team initially started with two solicitors and a secretary. Over the following years Tom, alongside his team, developed a fine reputation as an office which strives to look after their clients to the highest standard, regularly securing exceptional results in both the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court through quality preparation. Since then, Tom has been appointed as Head of the Central Area of Reeds overseeing a hard-working and diligent team.

Tom litigates Crown Court cases and has made himself a reputation for dealing with homicide, serious sexual offences and terrorism offences. These are often emotionally charged cases where Defendants often struggle to come to terms with the fact they have been accused of serious matters. Tom is able to reassure them about the way the case is being conducted, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses in cases in a clear and understandable manner, whilst also demonstrating compassion and care.

Tom is an active lawyer and regularly attends courts around the country. He is meticulous in his preparation, making sure that no stone is left unturned. The detailed analysis that he undertakes allows him to make cogent and forceful submissions in Court, often getting exceptional outcomes in court. He is an excellent advocate, allowing the Courts to follow his submissions by using logical and well thought out arguments.

His analysis of evidence is first rate which allows him to work closely with clients and barristers to obtain the best result. He has made himself a particular speciality for dealing with sexual offences. Tom deals with cases at the police station and gives expert advice about how to respond to questions. He regularly makes written representations to the Police and CPS pointing out the strengths in the defence case, often getting statements from witnesses and giving a detailed analysis of the case to date. He is frequently instructed to represent them in the Magistrates’ Court and then litigates the Crown Court cases as well.

Tom is also Reeds’ trainee principle. He started this role in 2015 and has been instrumental in changing the process for gaining qualification. In this time, Tom has approved many trainees and there are a number looking to qualify in the next two years. This should take Reeds to 60 trainees in nine years.

In accordance with the Solicitors’ Regulatory Transparency Rules for motoring offences we confirm that Tom Brymer charges Level B hourly rates.

I cannot recommend Tom Brymer at Reeds Solicitors LLP highly enough. He recently represented me in a case at the Magistrates' Court. Throughout the process, Tom was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. On the day of the hearing, several curveballs were thrown our way, but he handled everything calmly and with total confidence, ensuring the best possible outcome. His expertise, quick thinking, and strong advocacy in court made all the difference. If you need a solicitor who truly fights for you, Tom is the one to go to. Thank you again for everything!

Thanks to Tom and his hastly due diligance, my case was dropped and that worrying chapter of my life was put behind me. I have no experience with any aspect of dealing with law or being questioned, but Tom accompanied me to my interview, and kept in contact with me at every step of the process.
