Sara Ahmed is a solicitor working in our Criminal Defence department in Princes Risborough. She qualified as a solicitor in December 2023, after completing her law degree, LPC and Masters as well as a two-year training contract at a local criminal defence firm. Sara is Police Station Accredited and is currently working towards her duty qualification to become a duty qualified solicitor.

Sara represents clients from all backgrounds at the police station for a wide range of offences, including theft, sexual offences, violence and drug offences. She regularly represents clients at the Magistrates’ Court and deals with first hearings, sentences, bail applications and more. Sara also litigates on Crown Court cases of all complexities, ranging from murders to drug offences, sexual offences and everything in between.

Clients instruct Sara because she is personable, dedicated and has a clear way of connecting with clients without complicating discussions with legal jargon. Sara has a particular strength in working with youths; she understands that police stations can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. Sara also has experience working with those who are vulnerable due to mental health difficulties.

Sara cares about every person and case and approaches each case with sensitivity and commitment, recognising the underlying issues that may contribute to a client’s involvement in the criminal justice system. Sara advocates for restorative approaches where appropriate and ensures that her clients are fully supported and informed throughout the legal process.

Prior to joining Reeds, Sara worked at a specialist Criminal Defence firm for four years. Whilst there, Sara ran her own caseload as a paralegal and trainee solicitors across all departments. She represented clients at the police station, kept on top of chasing officers for updates on police station, made Legal Aid applications and prepped files for trial. She also held client meetings and ran Crown Court trial files and sentences. Sara then qualified as a solicitor.
