Natasha Perry is a Senior Associate Solicitor and the Team Leader of our Court of Protection Team in Bristol.
Natasha graduated from Cardiff University in 2016 with an Upper Second Class Honour degree in Law. In June 2021, Natasha attended the University of Law in Bristol and achieved a Master of Laws in Professional Legal Practice with a Distinction.
In Natasha joined Reeds in February 2021 as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in August 2022.
Court of Protection Solicitor
Natasha specialises in representing individuals who lack capacity and is regularly instructed by professional advocates and the Official Solicitor. Natasha has experience in acting for family members and is also regularly instructed as an agent of the Official Solicitor in cases involving serious medical treatment.
Natasha provides advice on complex health and welfare disputes concerning an individual’s deprivation of liberty, capacity and best interests. Natasha routinely tackles sensitive issues such as residence, care, contact, sexual relations, the internet and social media, marriage and finances. Natasha also often deals with cases which involve the criminal and family courts.
Natasha has a wealth of legal knowledge and is confident in providing pragmatic advice on difficult and novel points of law. Natasha’s warm and sensitive approach allows her to form trusting relationships and build a strong rapport with her clients to ensure they understand the court process and are able to effectively participate in their cases. Natasha is passionate and extremely committed to working with others to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of those she represents.
Accreditations
Natasha has received the Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation and is appointed as a Mental Capacity Accredited Legal Representative of the Law Society. This recognises Natasha’s expertise and experience in working with vulnerable individuals and their families.

Recent and notable cases
Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust v FD & Ors [2023] EWHC 2634 – Natasha acted as an agent of the Official Solicitor in a case concerning a woman with severe anorexia nervosa. The court was asked to determine whether it was in her best interests for active treatment against her wishes to be withheld.
PK – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with a Learning Disability and Autism who had retreated to a communal bathroom in his placement ten months before. Natasha successfully argued it was in his best interests to move to a specialist bespoke placement specifically adapted to meet his acute sensory needs.
SC – Natasha acted on behalf of a gentleman deprived of his liberty in hospital following a stroke. For the preceding 18 years, he had lived a remote and solitary life on a field in a wooden shed. With extensive occupational therapy and speech and language support, Natasha successfully argued that he had capacity to make decisions about his residence and care and he returned home to his shed. Following this case, Natasha worked with the NHS Trust to create guidance and training materials on the importance of positive risk taking and therapeutic input when assessing an individual’s capacity.
NH – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with a mild learning disability who had been prosecuted for having sexual communication with a child and breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Natasha scrutinised his care and support arrangements and the restrictions he was subject to in order to prevent reoffending and to ensure the risks were appropriately managed.
PS – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a 17 year old with cerebral palsy, a Learning Disability and ADHD who exhibited sexualised behaviours towards children. Natasha successfully argued that it was in his best interests to receive intensive therapy and ongoing education to reduce risky behaviours, increase independence and promote his capacity.
AW – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with Down’s Syndrome, Autism and a moderate to severe Learning Disability who had been deprived of his liberty in hospital for over 4 years. Natasha successfully argued that it was in his best interests to be discharged to a bespoke placement.
AH – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with a moderate to severe Learning Disability. Natasha successfully argued that he had capacity to conduct the proceedings and make decisions in respect of his residence, care, contact with others, social media and internet use and to engage in sexual relations.
JB – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with an acquired brain injury and alcohol-related dementia. Natasha successfully argued that it was in his best interests to return home with his wife and a package of care.
JT – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a young gentleman who had suffered a traumatic brain injury following a road traffic accident. Natasha successfully argued that he had capacity to make decisions about his residence and care.
DB – Natasha was instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent a gentleman with a Learning Disability, Cerebral Palsy and Dysphasia. Natasha successfully argued that it was in his best interests to have regular contact with his family.
