Lauren Potts is a Trainee Solicitor and Caseworker, working in our Bristol Crime Department.
Prior to joining Reeds, Lauren worked as a dispenser in a Bristol based pharmacy. In this role, she managed responsibilities such as dispensing medications, managing the reception desk, and handling a variety of administrative tasks. This experience honed her organisational skills and attention to detail, qualities she now applies to her legal work.
Lauren has shadowed a Crown Court Judge where she joined him on the bench in a variety of cases. Additionally, her legal insights were broadened during a visit to the Supreme Court of New York where she observed a murder trial.
In 2023, Lauren graduated from the University of Law with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Law and Criminology. She is currently in the process of completing the Legal Practice course (LPC) and is due to graduate with her Master’s degree in 2024. Alongside her studies, Lauren is working towards her Police Station Accreditation, which will enable her to represent and advise clients during police interviews.
Lauren regularly attends court and works on trials involving a variety of criminal offences, including the most serious offence of murder. Her passion for advocacy began during her time at university and has only grown since. Her meticulous approach helps her to locate evidence that will strengthen her client’s case and identify even the smallest of details.
