Represented Inner Temple in the Final of the Pepperdine Moot versus Pepperdine University, CA.
Organised the ICCA Moot Shield as Internal Advocacy Officer at the ICCA, and Sat as a Judge in the quarter finals and semi-final of the Clinical Negligence competition, when our Judge pulled out due to a High Court appearance.
Football: Level 6 FA Referee for Hertfordshire, refereeing in the Hertfordshire Senior County and Spartan South Midlands League most notably.
Luke is a Caseworker in Reeds’ Private Crime team, and based in the Oxford office. He supports fee earners, helping them to progress their matters. His role fits into Reeds, and the private crime team itself, at every stage of proceedings: from pre-charge advice to taking notes at a sentencing hearing, Luke is able to follow and move forward matters from start to finish.
Luke is passionate about practising criminal law and thoroughly enjoys the work he does.
Through Luke’s experience in studying the bar vocational training course he is well adept in processing lengthy legal papers and briefs, undertaking a thorough case analysis and preparing a case.
He has a good working knowledge of criminal and civil procedure, and has passed both the criminal litigation, and civil litigation BTC exams with merit. Luke is also proficient in the drafting of documents, having achieved a high merit in his drafting exam.
Luke’s casework includes speaking with clients to take their instructions before drafting their proof of evidence, collating and processing clients’ evidence, as well as filing and serving defence documents to the Crown and the Court, attending court to aid fee earners by taking a note of proceedings and liaising with clients regarding payment.
Luke has a wealth of shadowing experience including mini-pupillages at Erskine Chambers (chancery), Thomas More Chambers (criminal & civil) and 15 New Bridge Street (criminal), marshalling His Honour Judge Dight in the Royal Courts of Justice, and work experience at Michael Demidecki & Co Solicitors (criminal).
Prior to Reeds, Luke has previously been employed as a workshop coordinator at SamJames Engraving Ltd, and was most recently a County Court Advocate at LPC Law operating in the South-East Circuit.
In the future, Luke looks to attain pupillage and specialise as a criminal barrister.
