Ruth Tily is a solicitor based at the Bristol office.

Before joining Reeds, Ruth was employed by another leading Bristol Criminal Law firm for over 21 years.

Before becoming a solicitor Ruth was a lecturer specialising in teaching adults and young people with learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs.

She studied as a mature student at UWE. She qualified as police station advisor in 2002, was admitted to the roll of Solicitors on 1/7/2005. She became Duty Solicitor Qualified in 2007.

With over 20 years of experience as a defence solicitor, she has a wealth of experience of all areas of criminal law, from minor public disorder to serious assaults and sexual offences. All other areas of criminal law such as minor and major drug offences, education prosecutions and Theft and Fraud are also dealt with on a regular basis.

Whilst mainly undertaking magistrates court work, Ruth is also significantly involved in representation at the police station. This is an area of work where she continues to thrive.

She is adept at dealing with all clients with different needs and requirements. She is particularly adept at dealing with vulnerable clients and ensuring that the best possible outcome is achieved.
