Reeds Remains a Top Tier Law Firm in The Legal 500 UK 2027

We are proud to announce that Reeds Solicitors has retained two Tier 1 rankings in The Legal 500 UK 2027. Tier 1 is the directory’s highest ranking, and our continued recognition in both the South East and South West reflects the strength of our crime and fraud teams.

One Legal 500 testimonial describes Reeds as “a stellar firm, with the best team and a great approach to client care.”

A particular highlight this year is Nicola Hutchinson’s promotion to Leading Partner in the South West. She joins Stuart Matthews, Julian Richards, and Stephen Clifford among Reeds’ four Leading Partners.

The Legal 500 rankings are based on independent, evidence-led research into firms’ work, supported by market analysis and feedback from clients and peers.

Reeds Retains All Six Practice Rankings

Our South East and South West general crime and fraud teams have both retained their Tier 1 rankings. The Legal 500 highlights the South East team’s work on fraud, serious sexual offences and murder, while its South West commentary recognises the team’s complex crime and private client work.

Reeds has also maintained all four of its other firm rankings:

  • North West: Tier 2 for general crime and fraud
  • Wales: Tier 2 for general crime and fraud
  • London: Tier 3 for general crime
  • London: Tier 6 for fraud: white-collar crime (advice to individuals)

Seven Reeds Lawyers Individually Ranked

Nicola Hutchinson moves from Next Generation Partner in the 2026 edition to Leading Partner in 2027. Stuart Matthews, Julian Richards, and Stephen Clifford retain their Leading Partner rankings. Beth Mantel remains a Next Generation Partner, while Kate Macnab and Andy Lee retain their Leading Associate rankings.

A further nine Reeds lawyers are recommended in The Legal 500 2027: Mark Abbott, Jemma Michaelson, Sundeep Soor, Damian Wall, Lisa Paton, Tom Brymer, Joanna Benn, Lucy Tapper, and Kelly Williams.
