Grace Smith is a Trainee Solicitor and Police station representative working in the Criminal Defence department in our Reading office. She completed her LPC in 2025.
She assists all litigators in her department, providing support throughout all stages of case preparation like reviewing papers and providing summary reports to advocates, taking clients instructions, and preparing statements and applications. Grace undertakes legal research and learns something new every day. Her main focus is legal aid work in the Magistrates courts.
Grace provides legal advice and representation to individuals who have been arrested or invited to attend a voluntary interview at the police station. She advises clients on their rights, reviews the evidence disclosed by the police, and guides them on the most appropriate approach to interview. Grace ensures that clients are treated fairly throughout the investigation process, safeguards their legal rights, and represents them during police interviews under caution at the earliest stage of the criminal justice process.
Described as friendly, warm and an excellent communicator. Grace tries to be as organised as possible and work as hard as she can. She is passionate about client care, and wants to reassure clients that their case is within the best hands at Reeds.
