Sophie Eversfield is a Caseworker in Reeds’ Complex Crime team, based in the Manchester office. She assists with the preparation and progression of serious criminal matters under solicitor supervision. Her work includes reviewing evidence and disclosure, drafting chronologies, schedules and instructions to counsel, liaising with counsel, clients, the CPS and experts, and tracking orders and deadlines to help matters progress efficiently. Sophie assists all solicitors with everything, including undertaking legal research if needed.
Prior to joining Reeds, Sophie gained legal experience across criminal practice, pro bono and advice settings. She completed mini-pupillages and court-based placements where she observed criminal proceedings, sentencing hearings, bail applications and advocacy in serious and sensitive cases. She also worked with Citizens Advice Powys, Greater Manchester Law Centre and the University of Manchester Justice Hub, assisting with client enquiries, case notes, legal research, preliminary advice correspondence, referrals and confidential case management.
Sophie is organised, resilient and approachable, with a strong interest in access to justice and supporting vulnerable clients. She prides herself on careful case preparation, clear communication and maintaining confidentiality. Her experience in advice and client-facing roles has helped her develop an empathetic approach, while her advocacy and mooting experience has strengthened her ability to analyse information carefully and communicate clearly under pressure.
Sophie holds a First Class LLB (Hons) from the University of Manchester and is currently undertaking the Bar Practice Course with LLM. She is a member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. No duty solicitor, police station accreditation or similar professional accreditation at this stage.
