Colin Mackrell is an Associate Solicitor based in our Princes Risborough office, primarily involved in the representation of clients in the criminal courts and those who are being investigated in relation to potential criminal charges. Colin has full and extensive experience in all areas of the Criminal Law from motoring to Murder. Colin is also a Duty Solicitor and holds Police Station Accreditation, as well as CLAS.
Prior to Reeds, Colin worked for firms in central and west London and in the Thames valley area. Colin has been a Partner in three firms, and has managed a busy and high-performing office based in Reading. At all these firms, Colin’s expertise have been in the area of criminal Law, primarily for the Defence, though Colin has conducted Prosecutions for the RSPCA, the Department of Work and Pensions, the Child Support Agency and the Environment Agency.
Colin is extremely good at case preparation and trial advocacy, and always builds a good rapport with his clients. He generates good, respectful and helpful relationships with other professionals and stakeholders within the Criminal Justice system and utilises this to the benefit of his clients.
Colin has litigated many serious cases including Murders, rapes and other serious sexual offences, large -scale controlled drug importations, “ram-raiding” burglaries by organised crime groups and serious assaults.
Most recently, Colin has had the responsibility of conducting the Magistrates’ Courts trials for his team. He has demonstrated a high success rate in either securing acquittals, or persuading Prosecutors to accept guilty pleas to lesser charges than those originally preferred. His trial files cover a wide range of criminal offences including domestic violence, harassment, stalking, sexual offences, assaults, offences of dishonesty, drugs offences, and motoring.
