Emily is a Solicitor in our Court of Protection department, based in our Cardiff office.

Prior to joining Reeds, Emily worked as a Personal Injury Claims Handler and has worked part time as a Care Professional during her time as an LPC student. She also volunteered at the Swansea Law Clinic where she shadowed solicitors and gained experience in drafting and legal research.

This background has equipped Emily with a unique set of transferrable skills, such as empathy, communication, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with care and professionalism. These skills are integral to her work as a Court of Protection solicitor, where she works closely with clients to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.

Emily has excellent drafting skills and vast experience in preparing and submitting applications to the Court of Protection. Emily is regularly instructed by Relevant Person’s Representatives (RPRs) and has built strong relationships with a range of advocacy services. These partnerships are essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients, and she takes pride in working closely with advocates to support those who may be unable to represent themselves.

In addition, Emily is regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor (OS), which has given her further insight into the complexities of the Court of Protection process. Her ability to navigate these challenges with sensitivity and professionalism ensures she is able to offer a high level of support to all those she represents.

She is committed to providing legal advice and representation that prioritises the welfare and autonomy of clients, ensuring that they are fully supported throughout proceedings.
