Katie Armitage is a Paralegal and non-practicing Solicitor based within the Family Law team at our office in Reading. Katie qualified as a solicitor in 2005, practicing both publicly and privately funded Family Law for around a decade, and ultimately became a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel in 2014. In 2016 she took a career break, moving to work with pre-school children with special needs.

Katie returned to law in August 2019, but this time elected to work in a supporting capacity. Her primary role here at Reeds now involves the provision of invaluable support to the Reading Family Law Team, on a part-time basis; assisting them with the progression of files at all stages of a case, with a particular focus on drafting and liaising with Local Authorities, the Legal Aid Agency, and experts.

She also assists parents who are involved in Pre-Proceedings (PLO: Public Law Outline) processes and represents clients at meetings with the Local Authority when concerns are raised about a child’s welfare.

Katie’s experience as a solicitor has given her a good grasp of the Family Law legal system and good client care, drafting, and file management skills. Katie is confident and capable in her dealings with clients, legal professionals, and experts.
