Lorna Ferguson is a Trainee Solicitor in our Magistrates department, based in our Oxford office. In 2025, Lorna became Police Station Accredited. 

With 10 years of experience working in criminal law, Lorna is dedicated to supporting clients through complex legal processes with professionalism and compassion. Lorna’s expertise spans a wide range of criminal matters, including; thefts, drug offences, sexual offences, violent crimes.

Lorna assists the team by providing guidance and assistance to clients during legal proceedings. Attending clients to take proof of evidence, analysing prosecution papers and reviewing case materials. Additionally, Lorna considers the need to instruct experts depending on the nature of the case. 

Prior to joining Reeds, Lorna worked as a paralegal at Angela Porter Solicitors across the Police Station, Magistrates and Crown Court Department. The diverse nature of this role made Lorna very familiar with the processes within the criminal justice system. Lorna would attend clients in relation to serious matters to take instructions for trial preparation and obtain mitigation for sentence and liaise regularly with barristers to assure trial readiness. 

Working in the criminal law industry for over 9 years Lorna shows excellent levels of client care and take a proactive approach when dealing with her cases. She maintains an approachable but professional manner with clients. Lorna also has excellent administration and organisational skills 

 

Professional qualifications / memberships

Received a LLB Law Degree from Oxford Brooke’s University (2:1) graduating in 2017

Lorna attained her Police Station Accreditation through Cardiff University and the SQE with BBP university.
